Chris Hoult - photographer

Home Free

Have you ever dreamt of selling up and taking off into the sunset? Housetruckers have done just that. They're often regarded as lazy hippies who haven't made it in the real world, but the truth id far from this. Their lifestyle may be laid back, but it is not without its privations and hard work. In place of material wealth, housetruckers pursue quality relationships, creativity and freedom. This book captures the housetrucking experience in a collection of stunning photographs and a series of interviews with some of the people who have turned their dreams into reality. Review.

Out West

After 12 years as photographer on community newspaper the Western Leader, there are few corners of West Auckland Chris Hoult has not delved into and few characters he hasn't photographed. Chris's photography has been exhibited widely; and his previous book, Home Free, recorded the world of house trucking. He lives in Woodland Park with his partner and two kids, and works as a freelance photojournalist when he is not out fishing or photographing somewhere in the Waitakeres.
